Cal Poly Humboldt Athletics

Humboldt State's men's cross country team was coached by legendary coach Jim Hunt.  On the 1976 team were Ken Hammer, Scott Peters, Gordon Innes, Chris Speere, Jerry Tucker, Mike Killeen and Bruce Caputo.  The Lumberjacks placed second at the NCAA Division III National Championships in Cleveland, Ohio.  Hammer placed 15th while Peters finished in 20th place, earning both Lumberjacks All-American honors.
