Cal Poly Humboldt Athletics

While at Humboldt Hook was involved with football and track and  field. In 1958 he played halfback for the Lumberjacks and from 1963-65 was linebacker and end. In track he was a star in the field events, winning the discus in the FWC championships and the NCAA regionals. His 52’3.5” toss in the shot and 162’2.5” throw in the discus are still school  records. In 1964 Hook was again the FWC discus champion and placed second in the shot put.
