ARCATA — (Sept. 15)
Eric Webster knocked in his first goal of the season late in the second half, leading Humboldt State to a 1-0 victory over CSU Monterey Bay in California Collegiate Athletic Association men's soccer action Friday.
The Lumberjacks improve to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in CCAA play.
Webster's goal came at the 74:21 mark of the game following a Lumberjack free kick.
Zlatan Sahmanovic took a shot on goal off of the kick by
Kevin Maxwell, which the Otters' goalkeeper saved, but blocked back into play. Webster connected on the lose ball in the box to give the Jacks their second shutout of the season.
Humboldt had 12 shots in the game while Monterey Bay tallied 20.

Drew Ryan was huge all day, coming up with nine big saves throughout the game.
“
Drew Ryan was the man of the match for us,” said HSU head coach Andy Cumbo. “He had a number of one-on-one saves in the first half.
“We had a tremendous amount of chances, but we're still having a hard time finishing,” added Cumbo.
The Lumberjacks travel to San Francisco State Sunday for 12:30 p.m. kickoff.
