MISSION STATEMENT:

The mission of the Athletic Training program at Cal Poly Humboldt is to provide high-quality, comprehensive sports medicine care for all sports-related injuries and illnesses. The Athletic Training program consists of Certified Athletic Trainers, Physicians and Student Athletic Trainers. To help meet the needs of the student-athletes, the  Athletic Training room has state of the art equipment specifically designed for the treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.

Sickle Cell Information:

Sickle cell trait is not a disease. Sickle cell trait is the inheritance of one gene for sickle hemoglobin and one for normal hemoglobin. Sickle cell trait will not turn into the disease. Sickle cell trait is a life-long condition that will not change over time. Due to possible complications of athletes who have the sickle cell trait, it is mandatory for the Sports Medicine staff at Cal Poly Humboldt be aware of these athletes.
