ARCATA — (Sept. 23) No. 7 nationally ranked CSU San Bernardino remained undefeated in 13 matches, claiming a 30-21, 30-20, 30-23 over Humboldt State in California Collegiate Athletic Association volleyball action Saturday.
The Lumberjacks fall to 6-6 overall and 3-5 in conference play while the Coyotes improve to 13-0 overall and 8-0 in the CCAA.
San Bernardino controlled all three games, hitting .224 as a team for the match. Katie Hatch-Kinzer led the way with 12 kills while Sara Rice and Lisa Dogonyaro added nine apiece. Defensively, libero Meghan Haas collected a match-high 17 digs while Jessica Granados had four blocks.
The Lumberjacks struggled with their passing, leading to a .038 attack percentage.
Mallory Briney and
Kristen Kinzer had five kills apiece while also leading the Jacks with four blocks each.
Humboldt heads to Southern California next week, taking on Cal State Dominguez Hills and UC San Diego for a pair of CCAA matches.
