CARSON — (Sept. 29) Katie Norkunas had 18 kills and Mallory Briney added 10 for Humboldt State, but it was not enough as Cal State Dominguez Hills claimed a 30-25, 28-30, 30-27, 30-32, 15-11 win over Lumberjacks Friday in California Collegiate Athletic Association volleyball action.

Humboldt State, still winless in conference action on the road, falls to 6-7 overall and 3-6 in the CCAA. Dominguez Hills improves to 5-10 overall and 2-7 in conference matches.

The Lumberjacks won games two and four and hit a decent .228 for the match, but they could not find an answer for the Toros' Arreana Peoples who had a match-high 27 kills and a .575 attack percentage.

Kristen Kinzer had six blocks for the Jacks, who had 12 total team blocks, while Maya Domoto had a match-high 26 digs.

Humboldt continues south to La Jolla on Saturday to take on UC San Diego. First serve for that match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
