SAN BERNARDINO — Humboldt State's volleyball team offerend minimal challenge to No. 2 nationally ranked Cal State San Bernardino on Friday, falling in three straight games, 30-18, 30-13, 30-24 in a California Collegiate Athletic Association match.

Serving 14 aces and achieving a .420 hitting percentage, the Coyotes rolled past the Jacks to improve to 20-1 overall and 12-0 in league. Humboldt State fell to 8-12 and 4-8 in the CCAA.

Jessica Granados led a very balanced CSUSB attack, putting away nine kills, while Megan Haas contributed a team-high 12 digs. Mallory Briney's seven kills topped HSU, teammate Kelly Catherina added 11 digs, and Danielle Wells managed four block assists and one block solo.

In the opening game, the Coyotes slowly built a lead, and then finished off the Lumberjacks by scoring the final seven points. Ashtin Hall served four aces during the stretch, including the last three points.

Granados started the second game with a kill, helping CSUSB build a 14-4 lead. Lynsey Adams served HSU to three consecutive points, cutting the lead to 19-11, before the Coyotes outscored the Jacks, 11-2 to close out the game.

The third game was easily HSU's most competitive, the Jacks holding a four-point lead at 18-14 and still retaining the advantage as late as 20-19.  CSUSB again found its form down the stretch, finally ending the match on Sharea Drawn's kill.

Humboldt State will be back on the court Saturday to face Cal Poly Pomona at 7 p.m.
