ARCATA — Leading from wire-to-wire, Humboldt State raced away from Cal State Monterey Bay to claim a 85-54 victory in California Collegiate Athletic Association women's basketball action Friday.

With the win, the Jacks improved to 12-10 overall and 8-7 in the CCAA. Cal State Monterey Bay fell to 2-20 on the season and 1-14 in league.

Jennifer Enos led five Lumberjacks scoring in double figures, contributing 16 points that included a 4-of-8 effort from three-point range. Katie Franci scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Brittney Taylor and Luiza Osborne each had 11 and Kayla Henry contributed 10 for the Jacks.

Brittany Kikuchi and Dana Andrews  each had 10 points for CSUMB. Andrews, the Otters'  leading scorer, was held scoreless in the first half.

Taylor Kilgore's three-pointer broke the only tie of the game, putting HSU ahead 5-2 in the opening minutes. By halfitme, Humboldt State had expanded the lead to 43-20.

While Enos and Kilgore lit it up from the perimeter, Franci, Henry and Taylor accounted for the damage inside. Franci continually penetrated via the drive, and Henry contributed putbacks and short turnaround jumpers to help the Jacks move on top by as many as 31 points.

The Jacks return to the court Saturday to host San Francisco State in another CCAA contest. Tip-off in the East Gym is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
