TURLOCK — Lizzy Prescott pitched back-to-back shutouts, and Natalie Galletly banged out four extra base hits to lead Humboldt State to a 2-0, 6-0 sweep of Cal State Stanislaus in Friday's California Collegiate Athletic Association doubleheader.

Prescott surrendered only nine hits on the day and was backed by an errorless defense. The senior struck out eight in the first game and seven in the second, improving her record to 13-2 on the season.

With the wins, Humboldt State improved to 13-4 overall and 6-0 in the CCAA. Cal State Stanislaus dropped to 5-11 overall and 2-4 in league games.

In the opener, the Jacks plated their first run in the fourth inning against starting pitcher Jessica Gaumnitz, who allowed only four hits in suffering the loss. With one out, Chrissy Motzny singled, and after another out she came in to score on Galletly's double down the left field line.

HSU tacked on the second run in the sixth inning when freshman Nikki Ketteringham homered with two outs.

In the second game, the Lumberjacks jumped ahead with four runs in the first inning against losing pitcher Jennifer Arnold.  The Jacks got the job done with three singles and Galletly's double, which drove in two runs, then added two more on a Warrior error.

In the seventh inning, Ketteringham singled ahead of Galletly's triple to score one run, and Marissa Slattery sent Galletly home with a single to cap the scoring.

The Jacks are back in action Saturday when the face the Warriors in another CCAA doubleheader, slated to begin at 11 a.m.
