ARCATA - The Humboldt State softball team swept both games of a doubleheader against San Francisco State by scores of 11-1 and 7-0 Friday. The two wins avenged a 5-3 defeat last weekend to the Gators at the Mizuno/Best of the West Classic.
 
In game one, San Francisco State took the early lead on a Kelsey Wood homerun.
 
The Jacks couldn't put together any offense until the fourth inning, where they scored five runs on RBI's by Geneva Perrine, Caitlin Klug, Francesca West and Natalie Galletly.
 
The Jacks struck again for six more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Galletly's first homerun of the season drove in three and put the Jacks up by ten.
 
Lizzy Prescott settled down after giving up the early run, striking out seven and didn't allow a run after the first inning.
 
In the second game, it was more of the same, with Prescott dominating on the mound.
 
The Jacks offense again started slowly, with only two runners reaching base in the first three innings. The Jacks finally put runs on the board in the bottom of the fourth, when they struck for all seven runs.
 
RBI's from Perrine, Nouzouvsky, Klug, Chrissy Motzny, West and Marissa Slattery put the game out of reach for San Francisco State.
 
Hannah Jones and Kristina Lewis pitched the final three innings to secure Prescott's fourth win of the season.
