ARCATA – Lizzy Prescott pitched two shutouts to lead Humboldt State to 5-0 and 8-0 wins and a sweep of Chico State in the final regular season California Collegiate Athletic Association doubleheader Saturday.

The two victories improved the Lumberjacks' record to 47-15 overall and a 24-8 in the CCAA. The regular season champions, they enter the conference tournament as the No. 1 seed and will host the four-team event, beginning Thursday on the HSU Softball Field.

Chico State ended its season with a 25-28 overall and 13-19 CCAA record.
 
Prescott, one of three seniors honored as part of "Senior Day", pitched 10 innings, striking out 12 batters and giving up four hits to improve her record to a 38-8 record. Hannah Mullen-Jones, another senior, made an appearance in game one for the last two innings, shutting down the Wildcats on one hit.
 
In the opener, the Lumberjacks scored four runs in the second inning, more than enough offense in support of Prescott. Chico State starter Krystal Shaw walked the bases loaded, and Motzny scored when Lindsay Warren reached on a fielder's choice. Caitlin Klug delivered the decisive blow, a double into left-center that cleared the bases.The Jacks added another run in the fourth when Natalie Galletly singled to drive in Klug.

In the second game, Humboldt State knocked around three different Wildcat pitchers, chasing starter Lauren Walker with a six-run third inning. Ashley Oltjenbruns' three-run homer was the big hit in the inning.

Natalie Galletly added a solo homer in the fourth inning, and Warren singled to drive in Francesca West to end the game via the mercy rule.
