Boxscore

Jeanette DeWitt, despite feeling under the weather, completed almost every shot she attempted, adding 26 points for the Jacks.  DeWitt shot 81 percent (9-11) from the field while also being perfect from the free-throw line going 8-8.  She added seven rebounds.

"Jeanette had a great weekend while battling a bug,” said HSU head coach Joddie Gleason.   “She really focused and came through for us,” she added.

Bree Halsey continues to execute under the basket bringing down a team-high 14 rebounds while Lisa Petty added 12 points and eight rebounds and Kelly Kime with 10 points and three boards.

“Bree has the nose for the ball,” commented Gleason.  “She wants it and she gets it,” she added.

The Toros were led by Nikki Boutte who added 26 points for her team.  The only other Toro to score in double digits was Ashley Hudson with 10.

“Boutte stepped up and put the team on her shoulders,” said Gleason on the junior's performance.  “She is a great player,” she added.

Humboldt will return to action on Thursday at Lumberjack Arena.  The Jacks will first host Cal State East Bay in the first of four home games.  Tip-off at 5:30 pm.
