Women's basketball team finishes season at home

ARCATA —Two games remain and the focus will be on the two seniors - Caitie Richards and Lisa Petty - who finish four-year careers as Lumberjacks. Humboldt State will play Cal State Dominguez Hills on Wednesday and Cal State L.A. on Friday. Both games tip off at 5:30 p.m. in Lumberjack Arena.
 
Both Richards and Petty will be honored in a pregame ceremony on Friday before the Cal State L.A. game.
 
The Lumberjacks (6-14 CCAA, 10-16 overall) are out of playoff contention but Lumberjack fans will continue to watch to see how high Petty can climb in the HSU record book. Listed below are her current rankings with a note on what is needed to catch those just ahead of her.

Head-to-Head
Humboldt leads the all-time series against Cal State Dominguez Hills, 11-8. The Toros won earlier this year in Carson, coasting to an 82-66 win and snapping a six-game winning streak HSU had against the Toros. ... CSU Dominguez Hills last won in Arcata during the 1992-93 season.
 
Humboldt leads the all-time series vs. Cal State L.A., 10-7. The Golden Eagles won earlier this year in an overtime thriller, 72-70, in Los Angeles. ... Humboldt has won the last four meetings in Lumberjack Arena. Cal State L.A.'s last win in Arcata was in 2008.

Cal St. Dominguez Hills Notes
The Toros (7-13 CCAA, 8-16 overall) split last weekend, losing to Chico State (73-58) and defeating Cal St. Stanislaus (70-63). ... Three players scored in double figures in both games for the Toros: Julia Poeksteiner, Robynn Cochran and Denisha Lundy. ... CSU Dominguez Hills played only seven players in each of the games last weekend.
 
Cal State Los Angeles Notes
The Golden Eagles (12-8 CCAA, 17-10 overall) won twice last weekend, upsetting Chico State (77-63) in Chico and defeating Cal State Stanislaus (79-59). ... Cal State L.A. had lost five of six before last weekend, including a 20-point drubbing by Sonoma State. ... Tessondra Williams lit up the scoreboard against the Wildcats, pouring in 33 points. She also had four assists. ... Williams averages 18.9 points per game to lead the team.
 
Lumberjack Notes
Humboldt will post its first losing record since Joddie Gleason's first year coaching the Jacks in 2004-05. ... Kelly Kime has been hobbled with a leg injury but continues to play. In the last six games she leads the team with a .548 shooting percentage. ... Petty has hit .436 of her 3-point attempts over the last six games (17 of 39).
