ARCATA, Calif. –
Humboldt State men's basketball makes just its second road trip of the season when it travels to face conference foe Cal State Los Angeles on Friday, Dec. 2. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The Lumberjacks are off to a 6-1 start and are riding a six-game winning streak. HSU started its California Collegiate Athletic Association schedule on the right note with an 89-78 victory Saturday over Cal State San Marcos.

The North Coast team leaves the friendly confines of Lumberjack Arena and travels south to face a rebooted Cal State Los Angeles team. Jim Saia takes over the program after spending the 2015-16 season leading the Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team. The Golden Eagles roster features 10 new faces, including a pair of true freshmen that are logging minutes.

"They look like an NBA basketball team," said Head Coach Steve Kinder. "They have recruited some amazing players, and they could easily be the conference's best team when they start playing together and playing the right way. Hopefully we won't play them on the night they get it together. Coach Saia is a great basketball coach, and he has built every program he has gone to from the ground up."

HSU leads the all-time series 15-7, and the Jacks have won five straight meetings.
