ARCATA, Calif. – Following home losses against Chico State and Stanislaus State, Humboldt State men's basketball hits the road looking to snap its longest losing streak since the 1999-2000 season. The Lumberjacks travel to Hayward, Calif., to face Cal State East Bay Friday. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

HSU moved to 1-7 at home after losses to the Wildcats and Warriors. Nikhil Lizotte led the Jacks with 36 points last week and had a team-high 19 in Thursday's loss to Chico State. The Green and Gold attempted 49 shots from outside the arc against Stanislaus State, but were unable to overcome a 19-point second half deficit.

East Bay is coming off an 11-point win at Cal State Dominguez Hills. The Pioneers have won three of their last four games, including home wins over UC Santa Cruz and Cal State Monterey Bay. Leading scorer Micah Dunhour is averaging 17.3 points per game and had 26 points against the Toros. East Bay's offense has been clicking in its last three games averaging 78.3 points per game, but opposing teams are shooting 48.7 percent from the field during the stretch.

SERIES BREAKDOWN
HSU defeated East Bay, 68-62, in Lumberjack Arena on Dec. 30. The Pioneers lead the all-time series 49-39, but the Jacks have won the last five meetings.

COACHES CORNER
On playing back-to-back road games
"We were successful the last time we were posed with a tough road schedule," said Head Coach Steve Kinder. "We had to go from Chico to Turlock the day of the game. We will be posed with the same logistical problem this weekend."

On playing Cal State East Bay
"We know we can beat them, we've done it before," said Kinder. "We were playing well right out of Christmas time. We played very good defense that night and it got us inspired. We are going to try and prepare the same way defensively, so we can get out and run, shoot transition and do what we do well."

On what the team is focusing on this week
"One game at a time, literally," said Kinder. "We have to come out and see if we can get a victory at Cal State East Bay the first night, and then if we don't, bounce back and get a road split. We are about halfway through the conference schedule, so there is no reason to panic."
