ARCATA, Calif. – Humboldt State hosts Azusa Pacific in a battle for California bragging rights in Saturday's homecoming football game in Redwood Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Lumberjacks saw their unbeaten start come to an end in Ellensburg, Wash., as Central Washington dealt the North Coast team a 55-27 loss. Nothing seemed to go right for the Green and Gold as the Wildcats jumped out to an early lead; one they never surrendered. HSU did not score an offensive touchdown until the third quarter and didn't force a punt until the fourth.

Azusa Pacific comes to town looking to exact revenge on the home team following the Jacks season-opening 30-19 road victory over the then No. 8-ranked Cougars. APU brings a three-game winning streak to town after Saturday's 35-21 win versus Colorado School of Mines in Citrus Stadium. Running back Kurt Scoby has provided a much-needed spark to the Cougars offense since his return after missing the first three games of the season. Scoby has rushed for more than 150 yards in each of his three starts, and he leads the conference with eight rushing scores.

The Green and Gold defense will aim to rebound from the Central Washington game. HSU surrendered a season-high 546 yards of total offense to the Wildcats, including 284 rushing yards. Defensive lineman Sefa Tauanu'u got the Jacks on the board with a fumble recovery in the loss.

The Jacks rank first in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in total offense averaging 501.2 yards per game and third in total defense allowing 401.8.
