Men’s Basketball Closes Year With Two Home Games

| By:
ARCATA, Calif. – The Humboldt State men's basketball team hopes to generate some positive momentum as it plays host to two CCAA opponents this weekend. Cal State Dominguez Hills comes to town on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. contest, while the Jacks host Cal State LA Sunday at 3:00 p.m.

HSU is coming off a decisive victory on Dec. 17 over Miramar, 99-63, in its last tune-up before resuming CCAA competition for the remainder of their schedule. The Miramar game was a non-counter, so the result and statistics do not count toward season totals.

In their game with the Jets, the Jacks had five players tally double-digit scoring totals, led by Romario Wilson with 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the line. Kameron Curl knocked down 5-of-7 three-point attempts and contributed 15 points.

Tyras Rattler Jr. has been the Jacks' top offensive producer, averaging 14.3 points per game. Davasyia Hagger has chipped in 10.8 per game, with a robust 7.3 rebounding average.

The Toros, Friday night's opponent, have a 6-8 overall record and 3-4 conference mark, dispatched UC San Diego 65-63 on Dec. 19 before winter break. The Golden Eagles of Cal State LA come in with a 7-5 mark and a 3-4 record in conference. LA fell to Cal State San Marcos, 83-78, on Dec. 19.

Following the homestand, the Jacks will hit the road for games against UC San Diego and Cal State San Marcos.
