ARCATA, Calif. – Less than two weeks after traveling to face the Tritons, the Lumberjacks pack their bags for a second visit, this time with their season on the line. Humboldt State men's basketball takes on No. 1 seed UC San Diego Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in RIMAC Arena.
 
The Green and Gold closed out the regular season with a 14-point home loss to San Francisco State. HSU hung with SF State for 20 minutes, before the Gators made their second half push. Tyler Green led the home team with nine 3-pointers and scored a career-high 28 points in the loss.
 
HSU lost its last meeting with UC San Diego, 88-67. The Tritons controlled the pace of play and dominated the first half outscoring the Jacks 51-27. Nikhil Lizotte had 10 of his 19 points in the second half as he helped HSU wrap up the game on a positive note. UC San Diego shot 45.8 percent from the field and 47.4 percent from long range in the game.
 
The Tritons have won seven straight games and are 12-2 at home. Adam Klie led the team with 26 points and six assists in UC San Diego's 74-64 road win over Cal State San Bernardino last Thursday. Klie averages 14.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. The Tritons offense has been clicking during their winning streak averaging 80 points per game.
