ARCATA, Calif. – After suffering a pair of losses, the Humboldt State men's soccer team looks to get things back on track as they travel to Cal State San Marcos on Friday and then UC San Diego on Sunday. Friday's match is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m.

The Lumberjacks are 3-3-2 overall and have a 0-2-2 record in conference play. The Green and Gold will be without starting goalkeeper Bryan Hernandez who leads all CCAA goalies with 47 saves, and they will look to junior Robert Quintero to fill the void. Quintero has four saves and has not surrendered a goal in his 45 minutes played.

"San Marcos is very good, they have only lost one game so far this season, and they're getting some good results," said Head Coach Fred Jungemann. "Playing at their place is a little daunting, it is a difficult field, so it's not going to be an easy task. There are no easy games in our conference, so the task is always going to be the same. We're trying to figure out how to approach things and then can we execute."

Cal State San Marcos began the season with six consecutive victories before falling to UC San Diego, 3-2, in overtime last Friday. The Cougars (6-1) are led by junior goalkeeper Justin Tesar who is second in the conference with 32 saves. CSUSM has multiple scoring options and currently has eight players with at least one goal.

Currently ranked 13th in the country, UC San Diego is undefeated with a 7-0-1 overall record. The Tritons rely on their stout defense and have only surrendered five goals in eight matches, second fewest in the conference. UCSD has a knack for pulling out close victories, and the Tritons have six players with at least one game-winning goal.
