ARCATA, Calif. – Following a road trip that featured back-to-back games against nationally-ranked opponents, the Humboldt State men's basketball team takes a break from conference action as it hosts Portland Bible College Sunday in Lumberjack Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Green and Gold shocked No. 8 Cal Poly Pomona on the road last weekend dealing the Broncos a 70-65 loss. Jackson Strong scored a season-high 25 points and sparked the Jacks' upset victory.

"Our team has learned we can play at a high level at home and on the road," said Head Coach Steve Kinder. "Beating Chico State and Cal Poly Pomona solidifies the caliber of this team's ability and potential to win more big games this season. Our players have a next man up mentality, when the opportunity presents itself, be ready to perform."

HSU is 6-0 at home this season and has performed at a high level in front of the North Coast fans. The Jacks have defeated their last two non-conference opponents, Bethesda and New Hope Christian, by a combined 84 points.

"We have a rich tradition of basketball history at this University," Kinder said. "Playing in front of the Lumberjack faithful is special. Protecting our home court means a lot to our program and fans."

Tickets for Sunday's game are available at HSUJacks.com/tickets. HSU students, faculty and staff receive free admission with campus ID.
