ARCATA, Calif..---Â Â Humboldt State's men's basketball team will return home to Lumberjack Arena this week for a pair of California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) games this Thursday and Saturday, January 23 and 25. HSU will host Cal State East Bay on Thursday and Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday . Game times for both contests are set for 7:30pm.

RECAP OF HSU'S LAST GAMES: Humboldt State went 1-1 on its road trip to Southern California this past weekend. The Lumberjacks started the weekend with a 98-93 overtime win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Thursday evening.Â
Isaiah Pope paced the 'Jacks with a season high 21 points. Â Four other players scored in double digits for HSU in
Rob Lewis (20 points),
Zachariah Christian (18 points),
Jackson Strong (14 points) and
Amari Green (10 points). HSU lost to Cal State L.A. on Saturday 81-74 despite Pope scoring 19 points while Strong chipped in 17 points and Lewis added 16 points.Â

UPDATE ON THE LUMBERJACKS: Humboldt State is 7-10 overall and 3-9 in the CCAA after splitting its two road games. The 'Jacks are tied for 11
th place with Cal State Monterey Bay, one game out of 10
th place (Cal State San Marcos) and two games out of seventh place (Cal State L.A., Cal State Dominguez Hills and SF State). No. 5 UC San Diego leads the league at 11-1 followed by Chico State at 8-2. Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona are tied for third at 8-3 with Stanislaus State in fifth place (7-5) followed by Cal State East Bay at 6-6.

HSU is averaging 80.8 points per game while giving up 83.7 points per game. The 'Jacks are out-rebounding their opponents 33.9 to 33.2. Four players are averaging double digits in scoring in
Rob Lewis (14.5 ppg),
Leland Green (14.3 ppg),
Jackson Strong (13.6 ppg) and
Zachariah Christian (10.1 ppg). Christian leads the team with his 55.8% shooting from the field and seven blocked shots.Â
Leland Green has a team high 48 assists while
Amari Green has a team leading 17 steals. Strong leads the team with his 43% shooting from threes, 43.1% shooting from beyond the arc and 85.7% shooting from the line.

BALANCED SCORING ATTACK: In all but two of the Lumberjacks' first 17 games, Humboldt State has had at least three players score in double digits. The only two games were December 5 at Cal Poly Pomona and January 11 versus No. 6 UC San Diego. Heading into this weekend, four players are averaging double digits in scoring paced by
Rob Lewis' 14.5 average followed by
Leland Green at 14.4 ppg and
Jackson Strong's 13.46ppg.Â
Zachariah Christian is averaging 10.1 points per game and
Isaiah Pope has a 9.4 scoring average.

POPE: Pope averaged 20.0 points and 3.5 rebounds in the Lumberjacks' two road games. He also shot 68% from the field including 78% from three-point range. The freshman guard scored a season high 21 points in HSU's win at CSUDH. Against CSULA, Pope scored 19 points and dished out a season high five assists. He has scored in double digits in four straight games and five of the last seven games that he has played in since mid-December.Â

ASSIST/TURNOVER RATIO: As a team, Humboldt State has a +1.1 assist to turnover ratio heading into this week. The Lumberjacks have six players that have dished out more assists than turning the ball over. The six 'Jacks are

UPDATE ON THE PIONEERS: Cal State East Bay is 10-8 overall and 6-6 in the CCAA, which places them in sixth place in the conference. The Pioneers are averaging 72.8 points per game while giving up 69.6 points per game. They being out-rebounded 34.3 to 33.4. Two players are averaging double digits in scoring in Zafir Williams (18.2 ppg) and Nai Carlisle (11.4 ppg). Williams also leads the team with his 14 blocked shots, 48% shooting from the field, 8.1 rebounding average and 83.5% shooting from the line. Carlisle has a team leading 48 assists while Josh Dhatt has a team high 27 steals. Trent Warren leads the team with his 22 threes made and 34.9% shooting from beyond the arc.

Since 2010, Humboldt State leads the all-time series 13-5 including winning seven of the last nine meetings. Cal State East Bay won the first meeting this season 81-75 in December in Hayward despite
Rob Lewis' 17 points.Â

UPDATE ON THE OTTERS: Cal State Monterey Bay enters its game on Thursday at Stanislaus with a 6-12 overall record and a 3-9 CCAA record. They are tied with the 'Jacks for 11
th place in the CCAA. The Otters are averaging 76.7 points per game while giving up 82.2 points per game. They are being out-rebounded 35.1 to 34.8.

Four players are averaging double digits in scoring in Andre Ferguson (17.8 ppg), Jahvon Johnson (13.3 ppg), Damian Wilson (10.3 ppg) and Maurice Woods (10.3 ppg). Ferguson is also leading the team with his 7.7 rebounding average and 60% shooting from the field. Johnson has made a team high 42.9% of his shots from three-point land a team high 87.1% of his shots from the line. He also has a team leading 32 assists and 17 steals while Charlie Tooley has a team high 33 three-point field goals made.Â

HSU leads the all-time series 21-6 since 2007 including winning three of the last four games. CSUMB won 76-71 in Seaside in December.Â
