ROCKLIN, Calif. –  Cal Poly Humboldt (1-2-2) emerged victorious against Jessup (0-3-2) today at Warrior Field, securing a 2-1 win in an intense battle on the road. 
The first half saw Cal Poly Humboldt strike first in the closing moments. 
Ernie Garza headed the ball into the back of the net just before halftime at 44:56, on an assist from 
Maumausolo Uiagalelei, giving Humboldt a 1-0 lead. The goal energized the team and set the tone for a strong second half.
Just minutes after the break, 
Duke Romanchak extended the lead for Humboldt at 52:15 with his second goal of the season, showcasing a well-coordinated offensive push as he broke free past the Jessup back line. However, Jessup responded quickly, with Jalen Scott scoring in the 54th minute, bringing the score to 2-1 and reigniting hope for the home team.
Despite Jessup's increased offensive pressure, Cal Poly Humboldt's defense held strong, weathering several challenges throughout the match. Goalkeeper 
Adrian Gallardo made crucial saves, tallying two stops, while Jessup's efforts resulted in four saves from their keeper.
