Jacks Roll in CCAA Home Opener Behind Bineyard’s All-Around Showcase

ARCATA, Calif. — Playing in front of the Lumberjack faithful for the first time this season, Cal Poly Humboldt men's basketball delivered a commanding 73–58 victory over Stanislaus State in Thursday night's CCAA home opener inside a lively Lumberjack Arena.

The win moves the Jacks to 3–4 overall and 1–0 in CCAA play, while handing the Warriors their first conference loss of the year.

Bineyard Steals the Show in Statement Performance

Junior forward Zaveion Bineyard set the tone from the opening tip, leading the Jacks in five statistical categories—points (17), rebounds (7), assists (5), steals (5), and blocks (3). Bineyard's efficiency was just as impressive, finishing 8-for-10 from the field while playing a team-high 37 minutes.

His two-way dominance fueled a Humboldt defense that racked up 10 steals and held Stanislaus State to just 3-of-11 from beyond the arc.

Balanced Attack Powers Humboldt Offense

The Jacks executed one of their most efficient offensive performances of the season, shooting 55.3% from the floor and 42.9% from three, including a scorching 60.9% in the second half.

Three other Lumberjacks joined Bineyard in double figures:

Junior Dorrell Thomas added a timely spark with nine points on 3-of-5 shooting from deep.

Jacks Take Control After Halftime

After taking a 30–24 lead into the break, Humboldt opened the second half with precision and pace, outscoring the Warriors 43–34. The Jacks' ball movement—12 assists on 26 made baskets—kept the Warriors off balance while Humboldt's defense forced 11 turnovers.

In front of an energized crowd of 402, Humboldt never relinquished its second-half lead.
