ARCATA, Calif. – The Cal Poly Humboldt men's track & field team will return home this weekend to compete at and host the Cal Poly Humboldt Invite on Saturday, Mar. 28 at the Redwood Bowl in Arcata, Calif. The meet offers both programs a chance to showcase their depth, improve marks, and continue pursuing qualifying performances across sprints, distance, jumps, and throws.

LAST TIME OUT

Humboldt enters the weekend coming off a strong showing at the Pacific Northwest Invite in Corvallis, Ore., where Humboldt turned in multiple personal bests and program-best performances.

Cameron Bishop posted season-best times in the 100 meters (10.65, 2nd) and 200 meters (21.81, 9th overall), while Joey Bowser (400m, 48.97, 2nd) and Jamie Saunders (400m, 49.32, 3rd) also turned in top performances. Alonzo Paul, Tosh Woods, Adam Smith, and Thomas Clark contributed strong finishes in the sprints, while Walker Dorris and Bennett Feldenkirchen set personal bests in the 400-meter hurdles.

Humboldt's 4x400 relay team of Bishop, Feldenkirchen, Bowser, and Saunders captured first place in 3:15.99, which ranks second all-time in program history.

The distance group also excelled, with Trevor Stewart making his steeplechase debut in 9:46.81, Jacob Christopher running 1:56.76 in the 800 meters, and Finn Granger posting a personal best in the same event.

CAL POLY HUMBOLDT INVITE

The Lumberjacks will look to carry their momentum into this weekend's home meet, competing on familiar turf at the Redwood Bowl. The squad will aim to build on its success in the sprints, hurdles, throws, and relays, with Bishop, Bowser, Saunders, and Paul leading the way. The distance and steeplechase groups will also play a key role in scoring, while the field athletes in the shot put, discus, and pole vault will continue to target personal bests and all-time program marks.

With the team bringing strong lineups across sprints, distance, jumps, and throws, the Cal Poly Humboldt Invite will be an important test of skill, endurance, and teamwork as the Lumberjacks continue to chase qualifying marks and establish themselves as contenders within the conference landscape.
