LAKE SISKIYOU, Calif. - Cal Poly Humboldt women's triathlon opened its 2026 season with a commanding performance Sunday morning at the Mount Shasta Tinman, claiming the first seven individual finishing positions and nine of the top 10 at Lake Siskiyou.

Junior Anna Hanstveit captured the individual title with a winning time of 59:31. She was the only competitor to finish the sprint-distance course in under one hour.

Emma Hanstveit followed closely behind, completing the race in 1:00:08 to secure second place. Two-time All-American Averill Payne gave Humboldt a sweep of the podium with a third-place time of 1:02:53.

Freshman Phoebe Hickox made an immediate impact in her collegiate debut, placing fourth in 1:04:42. Sophomore Teagan Farrell crossed the line four seconds later in 1:04:46 to finish fifth.

Katelyn Touchet and August Ricca completed Humboldt's sweep of the first seven positions. Touchet placed sixth with a time of 1:06:00, while Ricca finished seventh in 1:06:02.

Senior Alexa Blakey added a ninth-place result in 1:09:33, and junior Evelyn Higgins rounded out Humboldt's competitors by placing 10th in 1:11:34.

The Lumberjacks defeated Willamette University 85-50 in the team standings. Humboldt secured each of the first seven scoring positions before Willamette recorded its first finisher in eighth place.

Sunday's sprint course featured a 750-yard swim in Lake Siskiyou, a 16.6-mile bike ride and a 5-kilometer run along the lake. The event marked the beginning of Humboldt's fifth season under head coach Kinsey Mattison.
