HUMBOLDT STATE: Fourth year rower for the Jacks.

2011: Was a member of the Lumberjack squad that placed third in the NCAA Rowing Championships ... earned All-Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association first team honors ... was named a Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association National Scholar Athlete.

2010: Helped the Jacks win the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship, becoming the first team to win that isn't a Div. I program ... was named a Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association National Scholar Athlete.

2009: Named a Scholar Athlete as a freshman rower.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Crescenta Valley High (La Crescenta) ... played two years of varsity soccer and competed in track and field three years ... became a league finalist in the pole vault and 4x100 relay.

PERSONAL: Born Aug. 23, 1990, in Burbank … parents are Tyrell and Sally Balonick … majoring in kinesiology.
