Ryan McFadden

Ryan McFadden joins the Humboldt State football coaching staff in his first season and will serve as the co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach.

Before arriving at HSU, McFadden spent the last three years as the offensive line coach at Montana Tech. McFadden helped coach his team to two conference titles as well as two National Playoff appearances. McFadden’s offensive line paved the way for the nation’s leading rusher in 2015 and he helped improve the team’s rushing totals by 123 yards/game in his first season.

McFadden began his coaching career in 2007 as an assistant coach at Pullman High School. He spent a year at the College of the Desert as the offensive line coach before spending three seasons at Wayne State College as the offensive line coach/graduate assistant. In 2013 McFadden served the same role at Simon Fraser University where he coached a First Team All-Conference offensive-lineman that anchored a unit that gave up the second fewest sacks in the conference. In 2014 he accepted a position at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology as the running backs coach.

McFadden is also a talented recruiter and has signed players from Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, Nebraska, Texas, California, and Nevada. McFadden graduated with a bachelor’s in social sciences from Washington State University.
