Nathan Aguilar will begin his second year coaching at Cal Poly Humboldt. Aguilar's first year coaching at Cal Poly Humboldt came when he was a Student Assistant coach to Head Coach Lennie Zalesky and Assistant Coach Jim Zalesky. During his first season coaching, the Cal Poly Humboldt Men's Wrestliong team started out with a 5 dual win streak, eventually finishing the season with a dual record of 6-7. The team also had noticeable wins throughout the season, beating a few top 10 ranked athletes.
Aguilar competed for the Lumberjacks during the 2024-2025 season which served to be the program's first year back after a 30-year hiatus. He helped lead the Lumberjacks as a team captain where Aguilar went 7-1 in duals and had a first round pin in conference.
Aguilar graduated in May 2026 from Cal Poly Humboldt with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and minor in Psychology.
Before transferring to Humboldt, Aguilar attended Oregon State where he was coached by 3x National Champion Chris Pendleton. Aguilar was also Coached by UFC Champion Daniel Cormier in high school.
