HUMBOLDT (2023): Named to the 2023 CSC Academic All-District Team...2023 CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll...Appeared in all 17 matches of the 2023 season, playing 1175 minutes...Recorded six shots, with three on goal...Had one assist against Hawaii Pacific (9/14)...(2022): Presidential Scholar...Deans List.

PRIOR TO HUMBOLDT:  Transferred to Cal Poly Humboldt from Truckee Meadows Community College...During his two seasons at TMCC, Rutherford helped produce six shutouts over 24 career starts....In 2021-22, he earned All-Region 18 Honorable Mention Honors....Two-time team captain was the TMCC Mighty Lizard recipient for outstanding achievement as a student-athlete....Graduated from Spanish Springs High School....Two-time Spanish Springs Player of the Year was the 2019 High Desert Defensive Player of the Year...In 2018, he earned All-League Defensive First Team honors...During the 2018 and 2019 seasons, he was the team captain for Spanish Springs....Member of the Spanish Springs Team that captured the High Desert League Championship in 2017, 2018 and 2019.  In 2018, Spanish Springs captured the 2018 Northern Nevada Regional Championship.

PERSONAL: Majoring in Geology...Son to Michael and Jill...Dad played football at Weber State in 1982, Mom played basketball and volleyball at Taft Junior College (1983) and Occidental College (1985-86)...Enjoys spending time outdoors, snowboarding, and camping...Fun fact, he's Spanish Basque.

"I chose Humboldt because I wanted to play soccer at the next level, while also pursuing academics. Humboldt just so happens to be in one of the best D-II conferences in the nation while also having a very reputable geology department."
