Lisa Weise joined the staff in 2022 as a volunteer Assistant coach. 

Coach Weise has been a part of the Lumberjacks staff who secured the National Championship in 2023; the team which has been National Runner up twice: 2025, 2026; the staff who have been awarded CRCA Staff of the year: 2023.

In 2026, she led the 2V4+ to a first place finish at the GNAC Championships.

With more than 30 years of competitive rowing experience, Lisa Weise has first-hand knowledge of what it takes to succeed at the highest levels. Lisa’s personal and team accomplishments include victories in three Head of the Charles masters races, two Canadian Henley Championships, one Olympic Festival Championship, and four US Masters National Championships. 

Lisa is a retired high school Biology and engineering teacher who balances her time on the water and coaching with her role in the school of education at Cal Poly Humboldt working with teaching candidates.
