After serving as the Interim Head coach of the Humboldt State women's rowing team, Patrick Hyland returned to being the top assistant coach. Hyland is in his 30th year as a member of the women's rowing coaching staff at HSU.
A pivotal part of Humboldt State's national success, Hyland coaching resume includes being on staff for the 2004 Varsity 4 National Title as well as the team National Titles in 2012 and 2014.
The Lumberjacks have had National Championship appearances in 2003, 2004, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2016, all with Hyland as a coach.
Hyland rowed for six years as a member of the HSU club team. He continues coaching novice this season, which is specifically for first year rowers.
Hyland received his bachelor’s in Graphic Design in 1991 and his master’s in Exercise Physiology in 1992, both from HSU.
Additionally, Hyland works on campus as the Human Performance Lab Coordinator. His office is located at KA 228.
