Amanda Nelson joined the Cal Poly Humboldt Athletics administrative staff as its compliance officer in 2018. Prior to being named the compliance office, Nelson was an assistant coach with the Humboldt rowing program. As an assistant coach, Nelson was the recruiting coordinator and the novice coach.

The Moscow, Idaho, native was a four-year rower with the Lumberjacks and a team captain in 2012. Nelson rowed in the 2012 National Championship varsity four boat and helped the varsity four reach Nationals in 2011.
