Shannon Childs enters his 23rd year as the Head Athletic Trainer for Cal Poly Humboldt, serving Lumberjack student-athletes since 2002.
He is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association and is a certified instructor for the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
Childs graduated from Cal Poly Humboldt (formerly Humboldt State University) in 2000 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Kinesiology, emphasizing in athletic training. He went on to finish his Master's degree, also in Kinesiology, at Humboldt in 2002 before taking on the role of the Jacks' Head Athletic Trainer that same year.
He and his wife, Vicky, live in McKinleyville with their two children, Aiden and Keely.
