Gleason's Comments: “Last weekend's wins were huge for us,” Humboldt State head women's basketball coach Joddie Gleason said. “CSUDH is a good team and to beat them on the road will help propel us through this week.” … “When we played UCSD earlier this season we had too many turnovers that resulted in easy baskets at the other end,” Gleason said. “We need to take care of the ball and that should help us at the defensive end. They are one of the best teams in the region and they're leading conference, so they're going to be a challenge.” … “We knew early on in the season that Sonoma is a young team and when we saw them earlier they were still trying to find out who they were,” Gleason said. “They're playing very well right now and are a different team heading into the second round of play. We need to prepare just as well as we would for any team in our conference. Their head coach Mark Rigby is a good coach. His team is always disciplined and prepared for us and play very well at home.” … “This week is definitely different for us when it comes to preparation,” Gleason said. “We have a short amount of time to get ready for Sonoma. It's difficult for both of us (SSU) when we hit the road to play our travel partner. Other travel partners in our conference only have to travel about an hour or two, were we travel four and a half hours. We just got home and have to leave again.”
