Gleason's Comments
“I was pleased that as a team we battled and competed against two very good teams last week (Central Washington and Seattle Pacific). We had times in both games where we put some things together and played really well. When we finally relaxed against Seattle Pacific, in the second half, we started to hit shots from the perimeter and got some transition points. I liked the way we fought back.” … “They (Sonoma State) return a lot of players from last year, so we are pretty familiar with who they are and what they try to do. (Olivia) Larkin was their top scorer last season; she shots well from the perimeter, but also distributes the ball. She will be a tough match-up and one we will have to focus on. We have to focus on our rebounding. We felt that we gave SPU too many easy looks.” … “We have to change our mindset to focus on the conference season even though it is so early in the year. We have to ratchet up our intensity. In the CCAA it is so tough and there is so much parity that the season could come down to just one game and you don't want it to be your first, so we are trying our best to get prepared in one day and get down there and compete with them.”
