Gleason's Comments

“Sonoma State presents a different style of play than we usually face.  They do a really good job of slowing down the tempo and executing their offense and defense.  They move the ball really well and wait for your defense to break down.  If it does they attack and draw a lot of fouls.  We want to dictate the tempo and it is difficult against Sonoma.  We want to force turnovers and get out and run as much as we can.  We were able to do that in the second half of the game at their place and that was the difference in the first game.” …  “We are not sure exactly what Notre Dame de Namur will bring.  We have seen them on film once and they did a good job with the press.  They are a regional opponent, so a win is important in the larger picture.  We will have to defend and rebound and take care of the ball in order to come away with a win.” … “Northwest Nazarene is a perennially regionally ranked and definitely one of the biggest games of our non-conference schedule.  They have beaten us each of the last two years, at their tournament, by close scores.  They are similar to us in that they like to get out and run.  They can defend well and are very aggressive.  They only graduated one player from last season.  They crash the boards really well and I think that will be a key to the game.”
