Jan. 31. …For this past weekend's 77-43 win over Cal State Stanislaus and 74-43 victory over Chico State, the Lumberjacks averaged a +32.5 scoring margin over their opponents, compared to last weekend's +13.5. On the weekend,
Brittney Taylor and
Andrea Bobic averaged the team's only double-figures with 23 points per game and 10.5 per game, respectively. Taylor registered a career-high with 27 points in the Jacks' defeat of Chico State, while
Jennifer Enos shot 75 percent from the three-point range, hitting three of her four shots to contribute nine points. “I felt Brittney stepped up when we needed her to,” Humboldt State head women's basketball coach
Joddie Gleason said. “In both games Katie (Franci) was doubled-teamed and Brittney found the open shot and fed the team the ball for more scoring.” …Bobic finished the weekend with five threes, including three in the team's win over CSU Stanislaus. “It's tough for junior college transfers to come in and have an impact right away,” Gleason said. “They try not to step on anyone's toes, while learning the new system. But she's earned respect and gained the confidence from the team and is playing well.” …Despite her first weekend not recording double-figures, averaging only seven points per game,
Katie Franci led the team with 18 rebounds, nine per game, and 12 assists. Taylor was named the CCAA Player of the Week after her accomplishments this weekend. …When looking at improvement made during the last nine games compared to the season's first 14, one name in particular stands out from the rest -

Last year's finish with 253 landed her third. At this point in the season, Franci is 34 boards shy of joining the school's career rebounding list with her current 472, and with a 9.5 average and four regular season games remaining the goal is attainable.
Paige Peterson and Franci are only eight and nine assists, respectively, from making an appearance in the team's single season assists category. Enos' 29 threes this season has moved her up one notch to second in the school's career list with 157. She's only 21 away from creating a new record, surpassing Molly Skoniecany's 177,  set in 1995.
Taylor Kilgore and Bobic are only three and five threes, respectively, away from making their first appearances in the school's record book for single season. Also in reach is Taylor, who is only 53 points away from etching her name in the career points category and only 26 field goals from landing a spot in the single season field goals top 10 list.

I think it'll be a great match-up down there for us.” … Urzua and Rainville are the Coyotes' top scorers, averaging 14.4 and 10 points per game, respectively. Urzua leads the team with 49 shots from the perimeter and 38 steals. …In team statistics, CSUSB posts a -3.2 scoring margin and -5.6 rebounding margin, while averaging 7.1 steals per game. Gleason's Comments: On last weekend's games - “I think we came out and played with urgency on defense, which stopped (Cal State Stanislaus and Chico State) from scoring and made it easier to score and rebound,” Gleason said. “We had our mind set to play our style and never let up.” … “Cal Poly Pomona is a good team,” Gleason said. “We need to defend on Colson, force her to take tough shots and contain her. She's a great point guard who can score and distribute the ball for her teammates to score. It's a tough combination and match-up.” … “We're playing our best ball right now,” Gleason said. “We're playing with a lot confidence and this is the time you want to see that. We're at the right place for us. It's strange  how fast this season has gone by. I think the fact that we have a good and fun group has made the time go by fast. The team has good chemistry and works hard. It's been fun and a pleasure to coach them.”
