The Gleason Era
In five years guiding the Jacks, head coach Joddie Gleason has achieved a 83-54 overall record. Her teams have posted winning records four straight seasons. In the 30 years before the Gleason era, the program posted winning records only six times. Prior to Gleason's arrival, Humboldt State had suffered through six consecutive losing seasons, including a 4-23 campaign the year before Gleason took over as head coach.

Lumberjack Notes
Humboldt State enters the postseason on a eight game winning streak. That total is second-longest in program history, short of the 13 consecutive wins posted by the 1993-94 team. …The Jacks' 21-6 record is the best in HSU women's basketball history, eclipsing the previous win total of 19 achieved by that same 1993-94 squad. …The Jacks have qualified for the CCAA Tournament both years it has been held. Last season they dropped a first round game, 65-55 at Sonoma State. …Senior Katie Franci is a more-than legitimate candidate for CCAA Player of the Year, an award that will be announced this week. The forward/guard from Santa Rosa has achieved 13 double-doubles this season, and is averaging 14 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Her rebounding averages ranks No. 1 in the CCAA, and she is also listed No. 3 in assists with 4.1 per game. …Junior post Brittney Taylor tops the Jacks with a 14.6 points per game scoring average. She ranks second in league in field goal percentage, hitting 53 percent of her shots. …Taylor Kilgore and Andrea Bobic are Humboldt State's primary perimeter threats, and the pair of junior guards rank No. 1 and 2, respectively, in the CCAA in three-point accuracy. They're nearly even in that category, Kilgore achieving a .397 shooting percentage and Bobic at .395. …HSU enters the postseason relatively healthy, with only minor injuries and illnesses causing occasional short-range problems during the 2008-09 season.

Warriors Notes
Cal State Stanislaus qualified for its first appearance in the CCAA Tournament following 8-12 conference season that placed the Warriors in a three-way tie for sixth. They achieved a 13-14 overall record in 08-09. …Sophomore Katie Busi is the team's top scorer with an average of 13.3 points per game. Busi also tops her team with an average of 9.0 rebounds per game. …Senior forward Lysandra Williams averages 12.6 points per game for Cal State Stanislaus.

Gleason's Comments
"One of our goals was to host a first-round CCAA tournament game, and we've accomplished that. Next, we have to prove that we're not just happy to be here and that we intend to win it." … "Cal State Stanislaus is a better team that what we saw here a couple of weeks ago. They have very strong post players that pose problems for us inside, and they have good balance with solid shooters on the perimeter." …"We've played all of the teams in the tournament twice already, so we should be prepared for any opponent we face."…"We're excited to be at home and have the opportunity to play again in front of our home crowd. Our venue is one of the best in the conference."
