In the opener, both teams scored in the second.  HSU's freshman Chrissy Stalf doubled to open the inning.  Alysson Blenis bunted Stalf to second but an error by the Coyote catcher allowed Stalf to come all the way around and score to give HSU at 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the inning CSUSB got a leadoff, solo home run by Ashley Collinwood to tie the game at 1-1 and took a 2-1 lead in the fifth.

In the top of the sixth Gia Hampton led off with a single to center and was lifted for pinch runner Serena Aragones.  Two batters later Blenis singled and Courtney Hiatt followed Blenis with a three-run homer to put the Jacks back in front 4-2.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Coyotes used eight hits, including two 3-run bombs, to score eight runs and take a 10-4 lead.

The Jacks loaded the bases in the top of the seventh, but with two outs Felicia Viverios flied out to end the game.

Veneza Hoover went 5.1 innings, allowed five runs, all earned in the loss.  Her record is now 0-5.

Hampton and Stalf each had two hits for the Jacks and Hiatt's three RBI led the team.

In the second game, HSU again scored first.  The Jacks got a single from Nikki Ketteringham.  Three batters later with two runner on Blenis doubled down the line to plate both runners.  HSU led 2-0.

In the bottom the inning CSUSB came back with a run and added four more, on a pair of two-run homers, in the second to push their advantage to 5-2.

In the Jacks fourth, HSU got RBI's from Geneva Perrine and Aragones to cut the Coyotes lead to 5-4.
But San Bernardino came right back in the bottom of the inning to score two runs of their own to stretch its lead back to three, 7-4.

Then in the top of the sixth Stalf and Hiatt got on with singles and Blenis blasted a three-run homerun to tie the score, but the runs didn't count as the game was called on account of darkness.  CSUSB was declared the winner 7-4.

“That was a 'home cooking' call,” head coach Frank Cheek said. “The umpires should have stopped the game after five innings or finished the game after six.  We tied it up and then they took it away from us.

“We just don't have a good enough team to beat 'home cooking' on the road.”

“I'm frustrated and the team is frustrated,” Cheek added.  “This is my fault.  I didn't do my job four years ago.  We have no four-year seniors and that is really hurting us.”

Kristina Lewis took the loss in 5.0 innings allowing 10 hits and six earned runs.  Blenis went 2-for-2 with two RBI.
