Head Coach Joddie Gleason's Comments
“At this point we have backed ourselves into a corner and we know that we have to take care of our business on Wednesday. It's a huge game for us in order to get the first-round (CCAA Tournament) game at home. We'll prepare and get focused for (CSUEB) and to even talk about UCSD until Thursday. While we would love to get (UCSD) down there, the (Cal State) East Bay game in huge.” … “The (UC) San Diego game is really important as well. We need to win games against regionally ranked opponents in order to make the NCAA Tournament, so even if we win in Hayward and get the first round game, a win against UCSD would go a long way for us in the region.” … “Everything is so close in our region, so head to head wins will be very important in the next two weeks. If we get another shot at UCSD, Chico (State), (Cal Poly) Pomona or (Cal State) Monterey Bay in the (CCAA) Tournament we have to beat them or our hopes of making the NCAA Tournament will be lost.” … “I few play like we did at Chico, we can beat anyone. But if we play the way we did at Cal State Stanislaus or against San Francisco State we can be beaten by anyone. We know it , now we have to perform.”
