Head Coach Joddie Gleason's Comments
“We are looking at (the CCAA Tournament) as the third part of our season (preseason, regular season and post season). Everyone is at 0-0 and everyone is trying to advance. We need to crank up the intensity now that it is playoff time and that is what we intend to do.” … “(Cal State) Monterey Bay is very balanced in their scoring. They do a very good job of recognizing the defense and playing off what the defense is giving. Whoever is left open is whom they find. (Michelle) Santizo is their point guard. She does a really nice job of finding the open player. We tried to mix things up last game and she countered it every time. She did a nice job of reading our defense. We have to know what we are going to do and then execute it. That is what we didn't do last time we played.” … “Teams have recognized our weaknesses and they are exploiting them. Teams are really trying to be physical with Brittney (Taylor) and are glued to (Andrea) Bobic, so we need other people to step up and make plays. When teams double Brittney we need the weak side to be available and hit the open jumper or get to the basket.”
