Assistant Head Coach Shelli Maher-Sarchett's Comments
“This weekend is very big for all the schools in the West Region.  It will give everyone a chance to see how they stack up against regional opposition and will go a long way in determining where teams stand when the NCAA West Region Tournament begins.” … “For us it is especially important because we have a chance to play teams outside our conference and get some much needed wins within the region, which will help us with regional ranking.  All the teams we are facing are in the top side of their conferences so winning these games are critical.” … “We are playing under .500 ball and that is wearing on all of us.  We expect a lot more out of ourselves.  This is a good team and we are in every game.  It is just one thing that we aren't doing that is keeping us from getting over the hump.  The pitching has been strong, but we are not getting critical hits when we need them or we are making a mistake in the field that costs us.  Right now we are too young to make errors and come back from them.”
