Head Coach Joddie Gleason's Comments
“The main keys for us against UCSD are taking care of the ball, handling their defensive pressure and not letting them dictate what we do in our offense. We also have to get good looks at the basket. It's really difficult because they defend so well. The other area where we must play better is on the boards. They had 22 offensive rebounds against us last week.” … “When we played them up here we handled the pressure a lot better. We had fewer turnovers and were able to get better looks. Down there we just didn't handle their pressure that well and they dictated what we could get on offense.” … “Last night was a huge game not only to advance in the tournament, but just for our mental well-being. We haven't been playing to our potential for the last two weeks. That win kind of got the monkey off our backs and gives us confidence as we move forward in the tournament. It's 'survive and advance' time.”
