HSU v. SFSU Game Two Box Score

HSU has won seven straight games and 15 of their last 17 to move to within one game of fourth place in the CCAA.

In game one the Jacks scored two runs in each of the first two innings.

With the bases loaded and two out in the HSU first, Anna Feick reached base on a fielding error by the SFSU shortstop.  The runners were going on contact and two came around to score.

In the second, with one out and the bases loaded, Chrissy Stalf singled in a run and the next batter, Kirsten Nouzovsky, hit a sacrifice fly to plate the Jacks' second run of the inning and fourth of the game.

In the fourth, Feick had a two-RBI double to increase the HSU advantage to 6-0.

In the top of the fifth, SFSU used a hit and a fielding error to plate their lone run of the game and cut the lead to 6-1.

In the sixth, Felicia Viveiros got a two-out double which scored pinch runner Nicole Parada to make the final score 7-1.

Perez, the starter, pitched the entire game scattering eight hits and allowing just the one run.  She struck out six and walked two.

In game two, a Nouzovsky single in the first plated Ketteringham after she had doubled and stole third to open the frame.

In the second the Jacks scored five runs on four hits.  Courtney Hiatt had a one-out RBI single and Geneva Perrine had a two-out two-RBI double followed by an Stalf two-run homer.  After two complete the Jacks had a 6-0 lead.

SFSU came right back in the top of the third, getting two runs on two hits.  Kendra Wood got the big hit, a two-out two RBI single to the right side, which cut the Jacks lead to 6-2.

A Viveiros solo homer that bounced off the top of the fence to lead off the HSU third got one of the runs back and pushed the advantage back to five, 7-2.

In the Gators fifth, they got a one out solo homer from Heather Jensen.  Three batters later, with runners on first and second, Perez was lifted for relief pitcher Vaneza Hoover.  Hoover gave up a run scoring single, but then induced a come backer to end the threat.  HSU's lead was cut to 7-4.

In the SFSU sixth a leadoff walk and single, chased Hoover and Perez came back in.  Perez struck out the first batter she faced then induced two ground outs to third base to end the inning.

In the HSU sixth, six straight batters came to the plate and all reached base.  Ketteringham led off with a double, Perrine earned a walk and Stalf singled to load the bases.  A Nouzovsky single up the middle plated two runs.  Viveiros then knocked in a run with a single up the middle and advanced to second on a throw to the plate.  With runners on second and third, Feick ripped a double to right center to plate the 11th and 12th runs of the game and gave the Jacks a 12-4 victory.

Perez earned her second win of the day and improved her record to 14-7.

Ketteringham (4-for-6, 4 runs), Perrine (3-for-6, 2 RBI, 3 runs), Stalf (4-for-8, 3 RBI, 3 runs), Viveiros (3-for-7, 3 RBI, 2 runs) and Nouzovsky (2-for-5, 4 RBI, 2 runs) all had multi-hit games in the sweep.
