ARCATA — The Jacks are hoping to leave the wet weather and unpredicted field conditions behind this week and travel to San Diego to face the Tritons. Humboldt will play UC San Diego on Friday at 1 p.m. and again on Saturday at 11 a.m. Both games are doubleheaders.

The Jacks lead UC San Diego 21-8 in the all-time series. The first meeting was in 2003 under coach Frank Cheek… The Tritons and HSU split the series in the 2010 season.

The Jacks are tied in sixth place in the California Collegiate Athletic Association standings just twp weeks into the conference season after a split series with Sonoma State… The HSU offense is led by Kirsten Nouzovsky (.426 BA 20 H, 3 2B, 4 HR 18 RBI) and Felicia Vivieros (.409 BA, 18 H, 2 2B, 2 HR, 14 RBI). With 18 RBI, Nouzovsky is the team's top run producer followed by Chrissy Stalf (16) and Vivieros (14). … In the circle, Vaneza Hoover has a 4.72 ERA and 4-1 record in eight starts. She has pitched 43.0 innings and allowed 42 hits while striking out 38 batters. … As a team, the Jacks are hitting .309 (third in the CCAA), the team ERA is 5.37 (tenth in the CCAA) and the fielding percentage is .954 (ninth in the CCAA).
UC San Diego Notes
The Tritons (14-2, 8-1 CCAA) stand in second place of the early standing in the CCAA. Last week, UCSD took all four from Cal State San Bernardino… The CSUS offense is led by Mya Romero (.370 BA, 17 H, 6 2B, 1 3B, 11 R)… In the circle, Camille Gaito has an 8-0 record in 11 appearances and eight starts with a .36 ERA in 58.2 innings and has struck out 44 batters.
