The Jacks dropped game one, 5-2, to the visiting club but were not going to send out the Lumberjack seniors with a loss in claiming the second contest. The victory concludes Humboldt State's California Collegiate Athletic Association regular season with a15-17 league record and is now 27-23 overall.

The Jacks and Coyotes battled in the first match-up, but Humboldt State could never quite find its groove.  The Coyotes never trailed, HSU scoring its only runs on Chrissy Stalf's and Felicia Viveiros' solo homers.  Stalf 's home run in the third inning added to her newly-set Humboldt State single-season home run record, giving her 18 on the season.

Jessica George sustained the loss for the Jacks in the circle. The freshman allowed eight hits and five runs, while striking out just two before handing the ball to senior Kristina Lewis.  Lewis held CSUSB to just one hit in the seventh inning.

The Jacks gained momentum in the second meeting of the day.  Humboldt State put up a quick eight runs in the first four innings but strong relief pitching from the Coyotes allowed the visitors to hold the Lumberjack offense.

With what looked like a chance to mercy rule the Coyotes after five innings of play, CSUSB got hot with the bats to tighten the contest.  The visitors added two runs in the both the fifth and sixth innings .

Vaneza Hoover earned the win for the Jacks.  Hoover allowed seven hits and three earned runs.

The Jacks continued to see power offensively from Perrine (3-7), Courtney Hiatt (3-6), Viveiros (2-4) both hits being home runs, Lindsay Warren (1-3), and Stalf.

Humboldt State will conclude its 2011 home schedule on Saturday at 8 a.m. with a non-conference game against Cal State San Bernardino at the HSU Field.
