• 1st half -- The scoring started out slowly with only five points in the first six minutes of play with the Jacks missing its opening nine attempts from the field, before Elle Anderson hit a mid-range jumper 5:47 into the game.
Trailing 11-9, HSU's Jessica Johnson, who had a season-high five points off the bench, tied the game at 11. Johnson added a pair of free throws a minute later for the Jacks' first lead of the game, 15-13, at 7:42.

• 2nd half -- The Broncos busted out an early second stanza outburst to cut their deficit to five, 44-39, with the first six points and a 15-2 run in four minutes to set the tone.
The Jacks held the home team at arms length between five to nine points until hitting its dry spell down the stretch. A game-ending stretch where HSU failed to score in the final six-plus minutes to see Cal Poly Pomona net the final 12 points to escape with a 70-65 win.

Coach Joddie Gleason on the Cal Poly Pomona rematch:
"We need to have more of a post presence to help Kersey (Wilcox) out. She was getting double teamed as Pomona was rotating when she drove. We also need to hit shot to alleviate the press more.
It is tough guarding Blackwell and will need to do a better overall job of it as well. They rebound so hard, but we did a decent job (on the boards). They did get way too many rebounds especially off missed foul shots that resulted in points.
We need to be patient to get good shots and discipline on getting these good shots and looks when going through any time when the shots are not falling.
