ARCATA – Seven games in five days will challenge Humboldt State's softball team this week, beginning with a double-header at Cal Baptist in Riverside on Wedneday at 5 p.m., and finishing with five games in the Desert Stinger Tournament in Las Vegas, Nev.

The Jacks are coming off a sweep of Academy of Art (4-3, 17-2). Hannah Williams pitched a first complete-game three hitter in the opener, and the Jacks pounded 11 hits in the second inning to coast to victory in the second game.

Part of the challenge this week will be the travel, as the team left Humboldt State at 7 a.m. in three vans on Tuesday morning and will return from Las Vegas at the conclusion of their Sunday game.

Live radio coverage will be provided at the Desert Stinger Tournament with play-by-play and updates provided by Assistant Athletic Director Dan Pambianco. The 4:30 p.m. games on Friday and Saturday will be aired until the start of the HSU women's basketball game, with live updates during time outs. During the 7 p.m. softball contest, the basketball broadcast will cut away to Pambianco for live updates during media timeouts and halftime. The Sunday morning game will be aired in its entirety.
 
The Desert Stinger games – as outlined above - can be heard over the airwaves on KATA, 1340 AM, the North Coast's ESPN radio affiliate. The broadcast will also be streamed live at http://socialstreamingplayer.crystalmedianetworks.com/radio/kataam.
