ARCATA –
Chrissy Stalf and Lizzie Perez each earned honors in the California Collegiate Athletic Association on Monday as the league announced them as the Worth/CCAA Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.
Senior first baseman Stalf was selected as the Player of the Week after recording seven runs scored, four RBI, a double, three home runs, a .647 average and 1.235 slugging percentage in Humboldt's last six games. Freshman pitcher Perez was named Pitcher of the Week. In 22.1 innings of work she allowed four runs on 13 hits, while striking out 14 opposing hitters.
After hitting 19 home runs in six games this past week, the Jacks lead all Division II softball teams in the nation with 49 home runs on the season.
The Lumberjacks will begin action this week in a non-conference matchup with the Notre Dame de Namur Argonauts (15-8 overall) on Tuesday. The doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the HSU Softball Field. The Jacks will then head back into CCAA action, traveling to San Francisco State (13-12 overall, 7-9 CCAA) for doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday. This weekend's doubleheaders will be Humboldt State's last regular season conference games on the road. Friday's contests will begin at 1 p.m., and Saturday's are scheduled for 11 a.m. at the S.F. State Softball Field.

Last Week – Humboldt State
The Lumberjacks started out the week taking two from Dominican on Wednesday (5-0, 11-3). Five of last week's 19 home runs were hit in the doubleheader.
Hannah Williams, and
Chrissy Stalf each recorded one home run,
Serena Aragones hit her first grand slam of the season, and
Megan Wink hit two over in the doubleheader.
After just a day's rest, the Jacks headed back onto the diamond as they hosted CCAA contests with the Cal State Stanislaus Warriors. During Friday's doubleheader, Stalf,
Courtney Hiatt,
Sarah Fox, Aragones,
Tonya Walker and Wink were slugged home runs as HSU swept the Warriors (6-4, 7-0). Freshmen pitchers Lizzie Perez and
Katie Obbema each picked up a win.
During the first contest on Saturday, Stalf and Hiatt each hit another one over, while Fox and Walker both recorded two home runs on the game. The hitting was not the only highlight of the contest, as Obbema struck out 10 batters in just five innings, coming away with the win for the Jacks (11-3). In the second game of the day, Humboldt State was down one run in the bottom of the seventh when
Julie Pena hit a clutch home run to tie the game at two. and send the game into extra innings. Williams finished the series appropriately, with a home run, to drive in three runs walk-off style in the eighth inning (5-2).
Last Week – Notre Dame de Namur
The Argonauts hosted the SF State Gators last Wednesday in a doubleheader, splitting the contests (0-1, 8-4). On Friday, Notre Dame de Namur traveled to Holy Names University for a PacWest Conference matchup in Oakland. The Argonauts swept HNU, winning both games (3-2, 3-2). To end the week, NDNU took on the Dominican Penguins at home in another PacWest contest, ending the week with another sweep (2-1, 6-3).
Last Week – San Francisco State
The Gators battled against Notre Dame de Namur last Wednesday in Belmont, getting the split (1-0, 4-8). Marisa Ibarra got the win in the shutout, striking out six and allowing just one hit. Sunday, the Gators hosted Dominican at home, settling for another split (3-0, 1-3). Ibarra (10-4) was credited with the win after another shutout, striking out seven and allowing five hits.
Head-to-Head
The Lumberjacks lead the all-time series against Notre Dame de Namur 25-3, and have won three of the last four. Humboldt State met the Argonauts earlier this year at the Desert Stinger Classic in Las Vegas, Nev., beating the then-undefeated team 7-3.
Humboldt State also leads the all-time series versus the SF State Gators 103-28. In five meetings last year, the Jacks took three (12-6, 5-3, 11-3, 12-14, 3-9).
