Well-Rested Jacks Host Warriors, Wildcats this Weekend

| By:
ARCATA, Calif. – Humboldt State volleyball looks to snap a three-game losing streak when it hosts Stanislaus State Friday in Lumberjack Arena. Chico State will visit the North Coast Saturday and both matches begin at 7 p.m.

The Lumberjacks have had extended time off following cancellations of last week's Bay Area matches versus Sonoma State and San Francisco State.

"The silver lining for us is that we got some much-needed rest," said Head Coach Kelly Wood. "It's a brutal grind with midterms and all the matches we have had in the last couple weeks –  it wore us out. We look forward to coming back stronger this weekend."

Stanislaus State will face Chico State before Friday's meeting with the Green and Gold. The Warriors have a 1-17 overall record with their only win coming against the Wildcats at home earlier this season. Massive turnover on the roster has contributed to the Warriors' inconsistency and win-loss record. Freshman outside hitter Rachel Klopfer leads the team with 164 total kills and 19 service aces.

The Wildcats are in the middle of the CCAA pack with a 5-6 conference mark and 11-10 overall record, but have rattled off three straight victories. Senior defensive specialist Tristen Thompson is one of the team's top contributors with 3.69 digs per set.

HSU students, faculty and staff receive free admission to regular season home games with campus ID.
